60ft Narrowboat for Sale , Built 1977
Description & Specification
Song of the Waterways is a truly bespoke historic narrowboat that has been loved and maintained with care by its current owner. She has an interesting history having originally built by Les Allen in 1977, who was directly descended from working boat builders, as is evident in her lines. She was later rescued and restored by John and Madeleine Forth who were best known as working boat people. The boat was then acquired by the well known Midlands folk singer Jeff Dennison (she is named after his album of the same name). She was then bought by the current owner in 2003 who has continued to update the interior, installing the Lister JP2M engine as part of the ongoing improvements. At present the saloon and the galley are in need of trims to complete the refit, and this is reflected in the asking price. Viewing is highly recommended. Mooring available by separate negotiation.
