69ft Narrowboat for Sale
Description & Specification
Pip has been lovingly transformed over the past 2 years, both structurally and cosmetically. She has served me well as a very safe, secure and comfortable home and proven to be a very sturdy and robust vessel.
Exterior painting: Pip was taken right back to steel 2 months ago, any sign of rust was removed and treated and multiple coats of Teamac Marine paint was applied to give it a beautiful finish and long-lasting protection. A guide rate for boat painting is £100 p/foot so for a boat of Pip’s size, the cost of doing such a complete job professionally costs upwards of £6k. She is now smart, clean and ready for the winter months for several years to come. What’s more, the boat comes with plenty of excess paint for touch-ups and new coats to keep her looking shiny.
Base plate: Original hull built in 1983 however, in March 2016 a new base plate was fitted to the entire bottom of the boat by the fantastic team at P&S Marine – examined by a highly reputable surveyor who reported it to be “exceptional work” (more details can be provided upon request). Naturally the hull was blacked straight afterwards. The cost of the work on the base plate was just short of £13k (not including blacking). New anodes were also attached in 2015.
From the stern: Engine: Barrus Shanks (twin alternator), 1 starter & 6 leisure batteries under deck Sliding steel hatch leads to bedroom, with built in wardrobe and day-bed which can be left as a sofa/single bed in the day and quickly folded up to become double at night.
Bathroom Shower over with Hip bath, Thetford porta-potti and spare. Newly tiled with modern metro tiles and beautiful patterned floor tiles.
Dinette Double - more than comfortable for 4 to eat, can take 6. The table can be lowered to convert the area into a double bed.
Galley Kitchen with full size gas oven and hot water boiler. Newly installed hard-wood work tops and taps. Side hatch with Perspex attached which can be easily removed.Very large Saloon, with Villager stove and flue installed. Plenty of room for sofa, dining room table and more.Hard-wood floor runs throughout the interior.
Quartered doors to Bow with huge water tank below – which was drained and blacked Summer 2016. Not entirely sure of capacity but from full, the tank lasts for around 4-6 weeks with 2 people. Plenty of room for garden table and chairs. Gas locker with 3 Calor 13kg propane.Last blacked 2016 (as per above).1 Solar panel fitted - connections in place to increase number of panels. 12v electric system runs throughout, with two inverters.
As I am moving abroad, I am open to including all or some of the furniture on the boat, dependant on offer. Any 'boaty' things will certainly be included - tiller pins, mooring ropes and centre line, mooring pins, windlass, CRT key, marine paint.
