60 x 10ft Dutch Barge for Sale
Description & Specification
A rare opportunity to own an historic boat with pleasing lines and lots of character.
Orca was built in Holland around 1904. She has a 60ft long hull with a 9ft 10in beam.
She was brought into the UK in 2010 and fitted out from 2011 onwards by Sunburst Boat Fitters and the current owners.
Spray foam insulation has been applied throughout as well Celotex panels.
The wheelhouse constructed of Sapele and toughened glass giving a nice airy feeling. It is fully collapsible when required.
Further to a hull survey carried out in 2010, the hull has been over-plated on both sides and over-plating of the keel is scheduled to be completed in early September.
Orca is fitted out in a manner sympathetic to its age and heritage but still has scope for the new owner to stamp their own identity.
The Saloon / Galley is spacious and open plan with solid wood floor throughout.
It is equipped with a gas oven and hob, a Belfast sink, cupboards below and wooden worktops.
A solid fuel Rayburn provides heating and additional cooking facilities. There is ample space for loose furniture and this could easily be used to provide an additional 2 berths.
Orca is powered by a c1950’s Mercedes water cooled engine mid-ships below the wheelhouse.
In the rear cabin is the bathroom with a low level bath with shower over. A cassette toilet is enclosed in a commode and there is a corner hand basin.
Aft of this is the sleeping cabin with a raised double bed with storage beneath.
Overall a very well maintained and cared for craft.
